Dear friends,

After the pandemic, we had an small Europeade with 1,200 participants in Klaipeda in 2022. And luckily we had the city of Gotha in 2023, where we again had a good Europeade with almost 5,000 participants. But at the same time we had to learn from Kielce that they would not be able to hold the Europeade planned for 2024. After intensive talks with other cities, Nuoro in Sardinia agreed to host the Europeade in 2024. But of course, this always takes time for the formal conditions of the committees of a city. Therefore, on 28 August 2023, I was able to agree with the mayor of Nuoro, Andrea Soddu, that we intend to hold the Europeade in Nuoro from 24 to 28 July 2024, subject to the decision of the representatives of the city of Nuoro. For this reason, we have signed a letter of intent. Now the municipal committees will bring about the necessary decisions so that we can sign the concrete contract around mid-November 2023. Due to the previously mentioned framework conditions, I ask that we take this time, but I assume that it is as likely as possible that the Europeade will take place in Nuoro in 2024.

Trusting in the good discussions with our friend Peppino Salis and his wife, who have been working for the Europeade for many years, with the mayor and other political representatives of Nuoro, we are again looking forward to a good Europeade 2024 in unity in diversity for the participants.
