Dear friends,

At the end of the Europeade in Nuoro in the summer of 2024, I had already noted that we did not yet have a city to organise the Europeade in 2025 at that time. Many of you have been thinking about it and have also had discussions with those responsible in the cities. I don't want to name them all, but in total there are around 20 cities that I have been able to speak to. Some said straight away that they were not interested in principle. Others looked into it intensively, but ultimately had to cancel due to various framework conditions for 2025.

Until a few days ago, there was still great hope that the Europeade would be held this year. Unfortunately, however, in conjunction with the employees of the local city council, it was realised that the time for 2025 is too short after all. As a result, the last spark of hope for 2025 has unfortunately been extinguished. I find this regrettable, but we have not given up hope of maintaining continuity. We have done everything we can to organise a Europeade in 2025.

However, there is always a very positive approach in every negative. Thanks to these diverse contacts, I was able to improve the existing network and find new contacts. I would like to personally thank all those who have worked hard to ensure the continuity of our Europeade. Today, I am therefore hopeful that I will receive the application from the city, which has been doing everything in its power to organise the Europeade this year, very soon. Preparations there are therefore well advanced! But there are also very good prospects for the next few years from other cities via the network that now exists.

I very much regret that we won't be able to meet up with our European family this year. But why shouldn't we organise a mini-Europeade in a smaller circle with less effort at different locations? Talk to the local people in charge and bring our friendship to different cities with just a few groups. Send us some videos, which we will be happy to publish on our website and use #Europeade2025 on social media.
